Pinealon (the EDR tripeptide, Glu-Asp-Arg) is a synthetic "bioregulator" peptide developed by Vladimir Khavinson's research group in Russia, studied for neuroprotection and cognition. It has no FDA-approved indication and is not on the FDA's Category 1 (permissible for 503A/503B compounding) bulk drug substance list, so it is not legally available through licensed US compounding pharmacies. It has never been submitted for FDA review and has never been the subject of a registered clinical trial (no ClinicalTrials.gov record) in the US or EU; the small human studies that exist are Russian-language occupational-health and geroprotection reports, not controlled trials.
Pinealon at a glance
No registered controlled clinical trial of pinealon exists in any population. A handful of small human studies have been published in Russian-language occupational-health and geroprotection journals (for example in truck drivers and locomotive-crew workers), reporting biological-age and neurobehavioural outcomes, but these are small, non-randomised reports, not controlled trials, and have not been independently replicated outside Russia. The remaining literature is almost entirely rodent and in-vitro work, and virtually all of it originates from Vladimir Khavinson's Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology and closely affiliated Russian laboratories — a single research-group source. Pinealon remains investigational with no controlled human safety or efficacy data.
